Being in Dubai
Dubai life, 2015
My favorite way of spending time, is to go somewhere and crawl into another person’s life and capture that in images.
As I did in Dubai, where I became a member of a local family and had the chance to take a peek into that world, to look beyond the facade and experience their daytoday life.
I love doing that.
Synchronicity is the other element that I search for in my work. Watching for patterns in reality to occur. Waiting for life to show up.
At times, I feel like a stalker invading someone’s personal space, waiting, watching …. And then I can almost taste it, I feel it.
There is this energy lingering around, waiting to come into action. The stage is set.
And sometimes when I am really lucky, everything just starts to move...people come up and down and life is unraveling in front of me,
I feel up-lifted, excited and all I have to do is…focus, shoot …focus, shoot.
Moments when everything just simply fall into place, when coincidences become meaningful.
Moments like that I experience as a present.
